February Favorites + Giveaway (Closed)

Despite already being one week into March, I thought I would do a (better late than never) favorites post. I’ve been meaning to post more, but 2013 has been busy and distracting thus far. I can’t believe we’re already in March!

The first on my list is a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Everly boots that I have officially dubbed my favorite shoe in my closet (over my Chanel espadrilles!)

Pants: Zara Blue Camo Pants | Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Everly | Ankle Cuffs: H&M Bracelets

Hi Sadie!

I’ve been on the hunt for a nice plain black ankle boot for a while and I was debating on getting the Alexander Wang Kori boots, but it was love at first sight when I saw the JC Everly boots. They are significantly more affordable than the Kori boots and still very “me”. I love the ankle cutout design (Warning: A little bit of loose dirt can and does come in) and the timeless pointy toe. The leather is extremely soft and tends to crease where you bend your toes but I think the shoe will have more character as the leather gets worn in. The boots are true to size and are not heavy; ideal for everyday wear.

I have to preface my next item with a small background on my skin. I have the most sensitive skin type of all skin types. I had severe psoriasis as a teenager and acne for most (if not all) of my adolescent years so I take caution when I try new products. Any hint of irritation and away it goes! Recently, I’ve been breaking out more than normal and my face has been extremely oily (more so in San Diego as my face clears up when I visit the bay area). I searched for something to hydrate my skin so it doesn’t dry out but didn’t add to the oily (Did you know? Oily skin can be caused by lack of moisturizing!). I initially wanted to try Lush's Breath of Fresh Air Toner but the sales associate recommended I try Lush’s Vegan Eau Roma Toner Water because of my sensitive skin. So that's what I did!

I hate using my dirty hands to put lotion on my face throughout the day so I wanted something that was hands free. Let me tell you. I was a huge skeptic. I truly didn’t think this would solve my problem. Au contraire! My acne has considerably died down and the oil has visibly reduced. Every morning and night, I spritz a generous amount on my face after I wash, and throughout the day I dab with an oil-absorbing sheet and spritz a light amount to wipe off any dirt and grime. Definitely will be repurchasing!

On to my next item. Good black eyeliner is definitely a necessity in any makeup bag, and I think the next item is literally going to be in mine forever. The Milani Eye Tech Extreme Eyeliner in black.

I’ve tried A LOT of different eyeliners whether they are pencil, crayon, gel, liquid, or pen. A few of them have lasted longer than others and some I’ve kicked to the curb after one use. Having “Asian” eyes, my lids are not deep set and my lashes grow straight down and that means most eyeliners smudge quickly. I constantly have to check mirrors to make sure I don’t look like a raccoon. (Wiping frequently probably causes more wrinkles too!) The Milani Eye Tech Extreme Eyeliner is the solution to all these problems. First off the pen tip is precise, so whether I want thin or thick it always gives me a clean line. The "ink" doesn't dry out quickly like other drugstore eyeliner pens, and the black is always super pigmented without being too wet. A best of all? Smudge-free! I'm not worried about black raccoon eyes when I use this eyeliner! The only con is that it is a little hard to find. Most stores that have it are always sold out, or they have only one or two in stock. When you see it, buy it! Lastly, as a photography aficionado, I love anything that has to do with photos. So, a couple of months ago, I decided to buy a fisheye lens for my iPhone 5. I FINALLY received the lens a couple of weeks ago (will explain the delay below) and have been loving playing with it ever since.

It's a great little gadget to play around with, and it's nice to have a wide angle lens on my handy dandy iPhone. The quality is decent for what it is, and comes with little lens caps and velvety bag that is perfect for when I'm not using it.

Without fisheye lens.

With Fisheye Lens!

When I initially ordered the lens, the seller sent me one for the iPhone 4/4s so I ordered another one from another seller. I didn't bother returning the first one, so now I have an extra lens that doesn't fit my phone! So all you iPhone 4/4s users have an opportunity to win one (doesn't fit on any other models but you can enter even if you don't have an iphone 4/4s)!

Here's what you have to do. (USA shipping only, if you are an international reader please contact me (dearbhanana@gmail.com) before entering! If you are under 16, make sure you get your parents OK!)

1. Follow me on instagram (@bhanana) & like the giveaway photo.
2. Leave a comment on this blogpost telling me one of your february favorites and your email to contact you if you win! Good luck! Giveaway ends 2 weeks from today on March 23rd @ 11:59PM PST.

Always, thanks for reading!
Hana

I've been looking for a little thing to splurge on this last month just to make myself feel better. It's been a while, and I thought I'd reward myself for working so hard and staying up extremely late for the past couple of weeks studying and what not. I decided to check out this new consignment store called Brooke's Boutique, and I'm glad I did. I ended up finding the most adorable suede, pointed-tipped shoes in bright royal blue. The brightness was something that was new to my ever-growing waredrobe, considering I usually stick to more neutral tones, but I decided to spice it up a bit. It turns out that the shoes that I bought for such a steal for $20, from Madewell 1937, was an priced $70.50 online. Such a great buy at an affordable price. It now is a frequent addition to my outfits, adding a little pop of color. You can find them at: http://www.madewell.com/madewell_category/SHOESANDBOOTS/skimmers/PRDOVR~64082/64082.jsp

Hope I win!(:

I think mine would be the China Glaze 625 "For Audrey." Spring has already started, but it still feels like winter to me, so this color fits the mood and weather really well. It's a nice pale blue with the slightest tinge of green, and I feel like this gives a good color for both late winter and early spring.! :)

I've been waiting for so long for the perfect timing to buy the vintage Chanel bag I've been watching over and over at Malleries. When I finally got my funds ready, my minpin got sick and my vet bills took my Chanel funds away. Then i started saving again for the second time by selling all my unwanted stuff from my closet and was able to finally pull my Chanel funds once again. Then another unfortunate event when i was almost ready to snag my prize... my dog, again to the vet, my funds back to zero. So i gave it up, finally accepting that maybe this wasn't meant to be :( Then Valentines day came! I received this wrapped up present from my husband. It's the vintage Chanel i was dreaming to buy from Malleries! What a surprise!

It's my senior year in H.S. and I recently went to an event where girls get an opportunity to receive a free prom dress (use and/or donated ones). We were each given a "Fairy God Mother" who helped us find the perfect dress, shoes and accessories for prom. At first I was getting discouraged because I couldn't find anything I liked... but then my sweet Fairy God Mother found me the most beautiful long red dress! It's an empire styled gown that's form fitting, and it has silver embellishments on the bodice. I wish I could do it justice describing it! I also ended up finding cute red dangly earrings, a pair of white ankle strapped heels with silver sequins on the straps, and also a cute, brand new tan clutch with a chunky, silver design on the front. Best part about it all... it was all free! :)

My February favorites is my "Dior Lip Glow, Color reviver balm." I gives me a good and neutral finish to my everyday make up. It brings out your neutral color lips and that is the best balm I've ever tried.

My February Favorite has probably got to be Chanel Double Perfection Lumiere Mattifying Compact Powder. It looks great with any type of foundation, B.B Cream, etc. You can even pull off wearing no foundation but just a little concealer with this powder! It is seriously the most amazing powder I have ever came across in my life. If you don't already use it, I highly recommend :)This was also a close tie with the powder but another thing I've been crazy about is strap heels/sandals. Whether your going for a morning look or night, it always looks gorgeous and elongates the legs. Thank you for this give away!
